Ready to level up your mountain flying? Join us for a Sierra refresher weekend March 27-29, 2026 — a mix of stunning scenery, practical training, and the kind of real-world decision making that makes you a better pilot on every trip. We’ll focus on what actually matters in the mountains: density altitude and performance planning, winds and terrain awareness, stabilized approaches, and having clean ‘outs’ when conditions aren’t cooperating.
This is designed to be approachable and fun, not intimidating. Expect a relaxed group vibe with optional training structure: plan together, fly smart, debrief honestly, and leave with a tighter personal playbook for mountain operations. We’ll tailor the pace based on who shows up — newer pilots can get confidence-building reps, while experienced folks can sharpen technique and judgment.
Weekend highlights (subject to weather):
- Mountain performance planning + density altitude briefing
- Route/altitude planning with terrain and wind in mind
- Arrival technique: stabilized approaches + go-around discipline
- Optional focused training flights and group debrief
- Good food + hangar talk with great people
Whether you’re building proficiency for future adventures or just want an excuse to fly somewhere beautiful with great people, this is the weekend. Spots are limited — sign up early and tell us your aircraft type and experience level so we can help coordinate.
