When the vacuum pump quits or the glass goes dark, the difference between a non-event and an emergency is reps. This weekend is a focused partial-panel clinic built to make instrument failures feel routine. We’ll start with a short briefing on failure modes — vacuum loss, pitot-static issues, attitude indicator failures, and the dreaded “everything looks fine but isn’t” — then get in the airplane and fly them under the hood with a safety pilot or instructor.
Expect timed recoveries from unusual attitudes, compass-turn and timed-turn practice, and a no-gyro approach or two so the procedures stop feeling exotic. We’ll close with an honest debrief and a one-page checklist you can keep in your kneeboard. Spots are limited — sign up early and tell us your aircraft type and avionics setup (steam, glass, or mixed) so we can tailor the session to what you actually fly.
