Flatland habits don’t survive first contact with the Sierra. Join us September 11-13, 2026 for a mountain and high-density-altitude clinic based out of Bishop (KBIH), sitting at 4,124 feet under the highest wall in the lower 48. Friday evening we’ll cover the numbers that actually matter up here — density altitude, real climb performance on a warm afternoon, honest weight and balance. Saturday we fly: ridge crossings at an angle, canyon turnarounds, mountain wave and rotor recognition, and the discipline of launching at dawn before the wind wakes up.
Sunday we put the instrument rating back on. Mountain IFR is its own animal — MEAs that eat your service ceiling, approaches with terrain-driven minimums, icing that starts lower than you’d like, and few good options when Plan A closes. We’ll brief real routes across the range and fly them with an instructor beside you. Space is tight, so sign up early and tell us your departure airport, aircraft type and whether you’re normally aspirated or turbocharged, and how much mountain time you already have so we can pair you with the right instructor.
