Ever watched a humpback breach from a coffee shop patio? Join us August 28-30, 2026 for a flyout to Monterey (KMRY), timed for the tail end of the summer feeding season when the bay fills with humpbacks and the occasional blue whale gorging on anchovies just offshore. We’ll fly into one of California’s most scenic little terminals, then trade the cockpit for a boat — the whales are close and the shows are frequent this time of year. Between trips out, there’s Cannery Row, the world-class aquarium, a spin down 17-Mile Drive, and a walk through Carmel before dinner.

It’s a fun weekend, but we’ll fly it like instrument pilots — the Monterey Peninsula is famous for its stubborn marine layer, so we’ll brief fog behavior, personal minimums, and a solid inland alternate before anyone launches. Spots fill fast for a summer weekend, so sign up early and tell us your departure airport, aircraft type, how many open seats you have, and your comfort with coastal IFR so we can group up flights and look out for each other.
